Midnight Trails is inspired by life's complex journeys and the mystery of dreams.
Forests are liminal spaces - thresholds - featured in stories about being lost. Mysterious, they can prove liberating or dangerous, full of frightening uncertainty or peaceful seclusion. The journey through the forest, experiencing getting lost and finding oneself often symbolises the transition from childhood to adulthood. In the forests in fairyland, mystical creatures dwell there; symbols of dangers which children encounter on their journey to adulthood, from innocence to experience. The forest-scapes Erraid paints are labyrinthine, depicting a maze of complex paths, yet one who is lost can find their way out alone. Night-time and darkness can be scary and mystifying. Yet when our dreams come alive and stars illuminate the night sky, beams of hope can guide the way.
Erraid invites you to see Nature’s magnificence and mystery through her art.
